GET INVOLVED WITH SUSTAINABLE COBOURG
We want to build a coalition of like minded individuals concerned about important sustainability issues in our community and how they relate to residents, visitors and the planet. There are lots of ways you can join the team.
Here are just a few:
Take Our Sustainability Survey
The more we understand about your concerns regarding sustainability and environmental issues in our community, the more we can do to offer solutions that benefit the present and future of Cobourg.
Every month we’ll do our best to send you a newsletter with updates about the progress of our advisory groups, environmental projects in our community and share ways you and your family or friends can lead a more sustainable life.
Attend An Event
Sustainable Cobourg hosts, co-hosts and supports all kinds of events in our community. From repair cafes and seniors fairs to educational sustainability events and monthly socials at Venture 13. Click over to the calendar and see what Sustainable Cobourg has coming up!
*Please Note: Some events are members only as indicated on the calendar.
Tell Us Your Sustainability Story
We know we’re not the only ones out there doing great things for the planet and in our own community. We want to hear from YOU! Tell us what you, your family and your friends are doing to live the most sustainable life you can.
If you see something interesting on our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or other social media platforms, be sure to like and share.
Volunteer With Sustainable Cobourg
Sustainable Cobourg is run entirely by volunteers but we are always looking for more! If you would like to help, please check out our current volunteer opportunities below, then contact us to get involved. We appreciate your time and effort!
Secretary – Volunteer Position:
The Sustainable Cobourg Secretary’s duties include keeping files related to past and current meetings and documents, including reports from committees; and taking minutes at the monthly board meetings and writing them up for distribution afterwards. Some additional time and effort is sometimes required at events. Time commitment: 3-4 hours per month.
Volunteer – General:
We are always seeking volunteers to help out with our office administration duties (answering the phone, helping people with memberships, organizing our office, etc.). If you are available for one hour on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays please let us know by contacting us. Any help is appreciated!
As we are a non-profit, for-benefit organization, we rely almost exclusively on membership fees and donations. If you wish to make a donation*, please contact us to make arrangements for payment. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and helps us do what we do! If you would rather become a member, please visit our membership page.
*As we are not currently a registered charity, we are unable to provide a tax receipt for any donations received. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Adopting sustainable practices, whether large or small, can have significant impacts in the long run. If every office worker in the United Kingdom used one less staple a day by using a reusable paper clip, 120 tonnes of steel would be saved in one year.
