Apply your talent and earn prizes to help us Make Nature Matter. The title for this year’s Go Open Data Hackathon is “Code With Nature: Future Generations Are Counting On It.” Come out to Venture 13 or join us online. You need to register to participate. There are challenges for all skill levels, so don’t be shy. The intended audience are students 18 years and older.. However, all are welcome to join us at Venture 13 for a live drone demo from noon to 1 pm. Bring your own lunch.

Design a solution or Storymap to improve the way municipalities and counties manager their natural and build infrastructure to mitigate climate change. Pick your challenge:

  1. Transition to an open energy data model that democratizes data. ($250 x 2 residential and commercial categories prize money donated from Green Button consortium of partners )
  2. Analysis of open data to support human services in rural communities. ($250 x1 prize money donated by Sustainable Cobourg Digital Innovation)
  3. Tracking of natural and built assets to support resilient infrastructure. ($250 x 1 prize money donated by Sustainable Cobourg Digital Innovation)
  4. Advocating at upcoming provincial and municipal all-candidate meetings on how they propose to Make Nature Matter. ($100 x 1 prize money donated by Sustainable Cobourg Digital Innovation)

[Note: The organizer reserves the right to defer issuing the prize money if there are fewer than 3 to 5 teams in each of the above categories. The competition will be extended to Monday May 30]
