We are thrilled to share the news of our successful tree planting initiative as part of the Great Lakes Local Action project in partnership with the GRCA and ACER. Today marks the conclusion of our springtime efforts, where we have planted ten different species of native trees and shrubs. With over 200 trees already rooted in the ground, we are well on our way to reaching our ambitious goal of planting 1000 trees in riparian zones!

Over the past few months, our dedicated volunteers have joined those from Sustainable Cobourg and our partners the GRCA and ACER with a shared mission: to contribute towards ecological health of our beloved Great Lakes region.

Thanks to the hard work and enthusiasm of all participants, we have added to the growing riparian zones that will play a vital role in mitigating climate change, improving air quality, and providing habitats for various species of flora and fauna along the riverbanks.

While we celebrate our achievements thus far, our journey is not yet complete. We invite you to mark your calendars for our upcoming fall events, where we will continue our mission of tree planting and environmental conservation.

Remember, every tree counts. Together, we can make a significant impact and create positive change in our local ecosystems. By taking action today, we are investing in a sustainable future for ourselves and the generations to come.

To stay up to date with our fall planting events and other related activities, be sure to visit our website regularly and subscribe to our newsletter. Follow us on social media to witness the progress of our reforestation efforts and engage with our vibrant community of environmental advocates.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers and supporters who have contributed to this remarkable accomplishment. As we look towards the future, we encourage everyone to join us in our upcoming fall plantings and continue making a positive impact on our environment. Together, let’s grow a greener, healthier Great Lakes region for generations to come.
