Sustainable Cobourg’s Rick Nonnekes Recognized at 2016 Cobourg Civic Awards

The 15th Annual Cobourg Civic Awards ceremony was held on April 27, recognizing many volunteers in our community for their outstanding volunteerism and community involvement. Receiving the Environmental Award was Rick Nonnekes.

Rick_at_CT_2014Rick was a major player in the creation of Sustainable Cobourg, Go Green Together, and most recently, Cycle Transitions, the local do-it-yourself community bike shop. In addition to running the shop, Rick advocates for cycling safety and a better cycling infrastructure through his involvement with the Bicycle Action Committee and the Can-Bike program. His efforts have truly made a difference in our community. Please join us in congratulating Rick on this award and his many achievements!
