Hi Folks. It’s a New Year and I want to introduce a new component to the 3 R’s: reduce, reuse, recycle, and RETHINK!

In order to be fully engaged in following sustainable practices we need to rethink how we do stuff. Some of us already do. And there is a broad spectrum of how sustainability is being practiced, some with fervent intensity and others with more tentative attempts. And that’s ok, as long as we do something!

Many of you are aware of why sustainable practices matter to maintain our environment. But are you also aware that our climate, a huge factor that determines the kind of environment we live in, has changed so much in the last several decades to the point where the challenge was posed to find out why?

The United Nations, through its Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has done extensive research involving hundreds of scientists worldwide over decades, just to answer this question.

So, if you want to find out more, come and listen to one of the key scientists, Dr. Stone who will be speaking, at the invitation of Sustainable Cobourg, on February 6, 2015, at 739 D’Arcy at 7:00 p.m. Come a little earlier for hot drinks and nibbles.

Hope you can make it, and don’t be shy, bring tons of questions!

Best,

G. Ludorf-Weaver
President, Sustainable Cobourg
